Samajwadi Party: We Need Goons, not IAS Officers

Date:

Instead of amend their mistakes, the Samajwadi Party has come up with brazen defiance, as party leader Ram Gopal Yadav dared the Centre to withdraw all IAS and IFS officers from Uttar Pradesh, saying their state does not need them. The Samajwadi Party is now heading towards for a bitter confrontation with the Union Government over the suspension of Durga Shakti Nagpal.

Akhilesh-YadavWhile CM Akhilesh Yadav refused to revoke the suspension and justified the act, his father ‘Maulana’ Mulayam backed the beleaguered son. Ram Gopal joined the tirade against Durga Shakti, claiming to be champions of the Muslims. Noted writer Shobha De tweeted, “Durga! Durga! Akhilesh is so right. He doesn’t need IAS officers. Criminals in his State are doing the job of running/ruining it brilliantly!”

The report, which was cited by the Uttar Pradesh Government for the suspension of Durga Shakti Nagpal, was leaked to the media today. There was no mention of Durga’s name in the report. Instead, the name of another SDM found a mention, as he was blamed for the demolition of the wall of a mosque.

The state government has served a chargesheet to Nagpal giving her 15 days time to submit her reply. The Samajwadi Party, which is upset at Centre’s intervention in this matter, has refused to support the Food Security Bill in the Parliament. However, JD(U) and BSP have extended their support to the bill. On the other hand, BJP may not oppose the bill, but could propose some amendments.
