TNI Bureau: India’s ace shuttler Saina Nehwal added another feather to her cap by winning the Denmark Open Super Series Premier title with an emphatic 21-17, 21-8 victory over Juliane Schenk of Germany in the final.
Saina took just 35 minutes to complete her victory. She faced some resistance in the first set, but dominated her opponent in the second set. This is the second Super Series premier title for Saina this year.
Saina had beaten World No. 1 Yihan Wang in the semifinals – her first victory in seven clashes. Wang retired from the game with a “troubled knee”, but Saina was on her way to victory by then. The Indian was leading 21-12, 12-7. Saina had won a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics Games.
