Sachin Tendulkar scores Ton in Irani Trophy

TNI Bureau: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored a hundred in Irani Trophy today, equalling the record of 81 first class hundreds scored by little master Sunil Gavaskar. Sachin is still batting while trying to secure a first-inning lead for Mumbai against Rest of India.

Sachin also completed 25,000 runs in first class cricket. He played 303 matches to achieve this feat. In addition to his 81 first class hundreds, he also has 51 test tons and 49 ODI hundreds to his credit.

The Rest Of India had scored 526 in the first innings, thanks to Murali Vijay (116), Suresh Raina (134), Shikhar Dhawan (63), Ambati Rayudu (51) and Mithun (51). Mumbai are 349/6 when reports last received. Tendulkar was batting on 107, while Ankeet Chavan was on 40. Wasim Jaffer and Rahane scored 80 and 83 respectively. Mumbai had recently won the Ranji Trophy title for a record 40th time in 44th appearance in the finals.
