Rehman Malik compares Babri to 26/11, Retracts

Date:

TNI Bureau: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik created yet another flutter, as he compared the 1992 Babri demolition to 26/11 terror attacks. Under pressure from Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Opposition parties, he retracted his statement, but the damage was already done.

“We do not want any 9/11, we do not want any Bombay blasts, and we do not want any Babri demolitions. We do not want Samjhauta blasts too. India and Pakistan should move forward and work together to restore peace in the region,” he said upon arrival in India.

That was a rude joke on the martyrs and victims of 26/11. People wondered why a person like Malik was given warm welcome in India. It’s an irony that no strong comments or rebuttals came from the government, bring high disappointment to the people of India.
