It is not Delhi’s Sri Ram College of Commerce that wants to see Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at its auditorium once again, but his speech has impressed the Ravenshawvians. It proves that he is popular among the young generation of the nation for the development in Gujarat.
According to Students’ union secretary Abhilash Panda, Vice-Chancellor BC Tripathy rejected the students’ demand to invite Modi to their annual function. They had decided to invite Modi as chief speaker and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as Chief Guest. They sent the proposal to the VC, who did nothing.
The students’ union alleged that the VC did not send their proposal to Modi that led to cancellation of the function. Modi, who is receiving scores of invitations from different educational institutions in India and abroad, could have visited the University in Odisha. However, the VC’s lack of interest disappointed the students.
