TNI Bureau: Rashtriya Surakhya Manch will oppose the visit of BBCI members in Odisha protesting Pakistani women’s team, which will play matches in Cuttack during ICC Women’s world cup tournament.
A massive protest will be staged before the BBCI officials, who are scheduled to visit Odisha today, said Mahesh Mishra, the coordinator of Rashtriya Surakhya Manch addressing a press conference in Bhuaneswar on Monday.
Mishra threatened the government of India and also the BCCI if the Pakistani women’s cricket team will play the matches in Cuttack. He said that the protests will be staged against them opposing the matches ahead of the team’s arrival.
Amidst the tension between two countries over the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers at the Line of Control on January 8, the government allowed Pakistani team to play matches here in Odisha. The move will never promote good relationship between two nations, rather the government is weakening the strength of the country, he added.
The barbaric incident on January 8 could not be the forgotten by the people of India and they will never forgive Pakistan for the brutal killing of the soldiers. However, the government took such decision after Mumbai and Gujarat refused to host the matches.
Mishara said that rest of the team except Pakistan in Group B can play the matches in Cuttack.
