TNI Bureau: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the first time appointed an Odia cricketer, Ranjib Biswal, as the new Chairman of National Cricket Academy (NCA). Biswal was the manager of the Indian cricket team that won the world cup in 2011.
Biswal, who was the vice-chairman of the Bangalore-based NCA, became the first Odia to hold such a prominent post in Indian Cricket board.
With the appointment of Biswal, the Odia cricketers may get more opportunities in the team in coming days. The announcement came at the annual general meeting of the BCCI on Thursday, which was held to name the Chief Selector in a five-member panel.
