Rafael Nadal wins 2nd US Open Title

World No. 2 Spaniard Rafael Nadal prevailed over World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the final to lift the US Open title for second time. The match lasted for 3 hours and 21 minutes, which produced great contest between two high-ranked players.

Rafael-Nadal1It was Nadal’s second grand slam title this year. He had earlier won the French Open title. Nadal has now won 13 Grand Slam titles in his career along with a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He has won French Open eight times from 2005 till 2013. He failed to win the title only in 2009.

Apart from this, Nadal has won Australian Open in 2009, Wimbledon in 2008 and 2010 and US Open in 2010 and 2013. He is set to snatch the No. 1 spot from Djokovic very soon.
