TNI Bureau: Former BJD strategist and Odisha Janmorcha leader Pyari Mohan Mohapatra has hinted at forming a political party within three months. He also vowed to move the Supreme Court against his expulsion from the BJD.
Pyari alleged political witch-hunting by Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha and said that the OJM leaders and cadres are being targeted elsewhere in the state. Hundreds of people joined Odisha Janmorcha in his presence today.
He denied the reports of any links with the Maoists, saying Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda’s father, Ramesh Panda was his co-worker on a Leftist platform, but did not get in touch with the ultras. He also pointed out to the fact that Ramesh Panda was the Nayargarh district president of the BJD before his death.
Pyari said he can see a conspiracy to link him to the Maoists. He also suspected foul play in the arrest of Sangram Mohanty, son of Maoist negotiator Dandapani Mohanty in Gajapati district, as Sangram had joined the Odisha Janmorcha (OJM) just five days before his arrest for alleged Maoist links.
