PV Sindhu loses in Semis, Settles for Bronze

PV Sindhu failed to clear the semifinal hurdle, as she lost to Ratchanok ‪‎Inthanon‬ of Thailand to crash out of the World Badminton Championship. Sindhu won the bronze medal – first by any Indian woman at the World Badminton Championship.

Sindhu-BronzeSindhu also became the second Indian after Prakash Padukone to win a medal at the singles event of the World Badminton Championship. Padukone had won the bronze medal in 1983 at Copenhagen.

In the semifinal, World No. 12 Sindhu lost to Ratchanok 10-21, 13-21. The match lasted for just 36 minutes, as Sindhu turned out to be no match against the Thai player.
