Indonesia’s communications and information Minister Tifatul Sembiring told to ‘The Times of India’ that roughly 2 billion porn Web sites exist and all of the sites the government has now closed were running from other countries. “We will block more porn sites during Ramadan, though that doesn’t mean that we will allow such sites to operate during the rest of the year,” the minister said.

The Government of Indonesia is expected to shut down more pornographic sites in the upcoming month. Ramadan the Holy month of Islam has started from today July 19 in Indonesia and will last for one month.

The minister criticized that online pornography is an industry and the producers always seem to find new ways of escaping detection.

Indonesia is one of the countries which has one of the world’s most populous Islamic populations and is quiet strict towards pornography.
