TNI Bureau: Another rape incident took place in the national capital, showing that Delhi is unsafe for girls. A para-medical student was allegedly gangraped in a private bus in South Delhi. The victim and her friend were stripped and thrown off the bus following the incident near Mahipalpur flyover.
The victim hails from Dehradun. She was travelling along with her male friend from Munirika on Sunday night to Palam. The incident happened near Mahipalpur. Her male friend, who is working with a software company, was brutally beaten up before the girl was raped.
The boy lodged a complaint at the Vashant Vihar police station at around 1:15 am following the incident. According to FIR, around 7 people were there in the bus, who gangraped the girl. The victim has been admitted to the Safdarjung hospital in critical condition. Currently, the girl is in the ICU. Police have detained 24 people in connection with the case.
The National Commission for Women Chairperson Mamata Sharma has demanded a probe into the heinous crime. The incident shows that Delhi has turned into the hub of crime and women are not safe. The Delhi police duty is also questionable. The statement of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit “the law and order in Delhi was not in her hands” also raises eyebrows of many.
