Pakistan Earthquake Death Toll rises to 350

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which hit the Balochistan region of Pakistan yesterday, has left widespread devastation all over. The death toll has now reached 350. Awaran district in Balochistan is the worst-hit.

Over 500 people are reportedly injured. The rescue and relief operations are going on in full swing. Many dead bodies are still trapped under the debris. The Awaran district has an estimated population of around 300,000.

Around 90 per cent houses in the district, have been destroyed. There is no traces of the mud houses. The Army has taken control of the rescue operations. According to media reports, a new island has appeared after Tuesday’s earthquake near Pakistani coastline of Gwadar. The island is up to 100 feet (30 metres) and 200 feet wide.
