Pakistan attacks India, kills 5 Soldiers

In a daring adventure, Pakistan attacked an Indian Post in the Poonch area of Jammu & Kashmir, killing at least five Indian soldiers. The Indian soldiers were attacked while they were on patrol duty along the LoC. Four of the deceased jawans belonged to 21 Bihar Regiment. One belonged to Maratha Regiment. One jawan, who was injured in the attack, is being treated at the hospital.

Indian-ArmyThe incident took place at the Saral Post in Chakkan da Bagh area of Poonch. The Pakistan Army regulars have entered the Indian territory and killed the soldiers. According to sources, some militants were also involved in the assault. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned over the incident. The BJP and Shiv Sena have demanded strong retaliation from the Indian Government.

Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah tweeted, “”These incidents don’t help efforts to normalise or even improve relations with Pak & call into question the Pak Govt’s recent overtures.”

Gujarat CM Narendra Modi tweeted, “Dastardly ambush by Pakistan last night in the Chakan da Bagh area of Poonch leading to death of 5 Indian Soldiers is unacceptable”.

“From China’s intrusions to Pakistan’s ambushes- UPA Government has been absolutely lax in securing Indian borders. When will Centre wake up?,” he asked the government.
