TNI Bureau: The Pakistan government officials managed to convince Muslim cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri to call off his protest with a deal that was signed late Thursday night after a series of negotiations for hours.
The government agreed to dissolove the Assembly by March 15 ahead of the completion of its term and facilitate free and fair polls. The agreement was signed between the government and Qadri and bore the signature of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
Qadri had waged a war against the government and had been on a sit-in outside the Pakistan Assembly for the last four days. He asked the government to resign and bring electoral reforms in the country with the helop of military.
