TNI Bureau: The Congress-led UPA Government has never thought that they would witness such an embarrassing situation even after winning the debates over FDI in Multi-brand Retail in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha last week.
The BJP and other opposition parties have created ruckus in Rajya Sabha over the recent disclosure by a US Senate report, which said that global retail giant Wal-Mart spent Rs 125 crore on lobbying activities to enter the Indian market.
The BJP was supported by CPM, CPI, Samajwadi Party, JD(U), Trinamool Congress and AIADMK MPs, who demanded a probe into any possible corruption activities and also demanded the withdrawal of FDI in Retail from India, saying lobbying is illegal in India. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned following the uproarious scenes.
