While expressing his satisfaction over the Scheme now introduced in 504 Police Stations of the State, the D.G.P., Odisha advised the officers that the suggestions and grievances made by the members of “Ama Police Samiti” in the monthly meetings should be promptly addressed. He also said that “Reception Centres and Mahila & Sishu Desk” should be made functional at each Police Station to complement the objectives of Community Policing.
The one day training programme covered issues like concepts and practices of “Ama Police”, national and international best practices, Kerala Police Community Policing Scheme, “Janamaitri” and effective communication. 160 officers from all across Odisha attended the training programme. Similar training modules will be conducted in this calendar year to include all the officers associated with implementation of “Ama Police”.
