1) Union minister for Environment and Forests and Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, has criticised the Odisha Government in Shankaracharya row and asked it not to interfere in religious matters. Javadekar made a visit to Puri to seek the blessings of deities. He is on a day-long visit to attend the Legislature Party meeting of the BJP.
2) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch has sought permission of Odisha government to seize the assets of Sai Pragati, a chit fund company. The dubious firm had duped investors in Odisha of at least Rs 20 crore.
3) A woman labourer O Roja, from Gajapati district, has been confirmed dead in the Chennai building collapse, taking the death toll from Odisha to 7. At least 62 people died when the 12-storey building in Chennai collapsed on Saturday.
