Odisha bracing for Super Cyclone Phailin (PICTURES)

Unlike in 1999, when infrastructure, administration and communication were very poor, which became a hindrance to deal with the severity of the storm and resulted in the death of over 10,000 people in Coastal Odisha, this time the government has already started its preparation for the rescue and relief operation on a war footing to deal with Super Cyclone Phailin.

However, the situation has threatened to go out of control when it comes to availability of food items, fuel and other essential items such as candles, battery, torch etc.

Here are the pictures, which show the urgency as well as the hassles facing by the common people, whether its bus stop or petrol pumps. The government still believes it would deal with the situation in an effective manner.
