TNI Bureau: After the recent exposures by NDTV and the Times of India on the alleged corporate fraud made by Purti Group, which is also associated with Nitin Gadkari, the BJP President may find it difficult to get a second term in the party. Senior BJP leader Ram Jethmalani has already raised the banner of revolt by demanding Gadkari’s resignation.
Ram Jethmalani said in clear terms that Gadkari should not be made the BJP President if BJP is serious about fighting corruption. He asked Gadkari to resign, face probe and come out clean.
The RSS, which pushed Gadkari to the top post, is reportedly unhappy with the latest development. The Sangh could ask Gadkari to step down pending a probe, as the issue may hurt BJP’s prospects elsewhere in the country.
