TNI Bureau: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar slammed his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi for his remarks on the caste politics that reportedly slowed Bihar’s economy.
The NDA ally hit out at Modi saying “One should think about one’s own situation (Bihar par tippani karne walon ko apne halaat ke bare me sochana chahiye)”.
Without taking Modi’s name, Nitish said that people should look at the condition of their own state before criticising others. He said that Bihar is developing now.
Earlier on Monday, RJD chief Lalu Prasad criticised Nitish over Narendra Modi’s remarks against caste politics of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. In an attempt to create cracks in NDA, he said that Nitish and Sushil Modi should respond to Modi’s remarks.
The sharp reaction from Nitish came a day after Modi had blamed caste politics for slow socio-economic growth of states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
During a public meeting in Rajkot on Sunday, Modi said, “Bihar, at one point of time, was a political and spiritual leader of the country, but it slipped into socio-economical backwardness ever since the casteist leadership took to centre stage, without taking names of individual politicians”.
