Weeks after Naxals rocked Chhattisgarh killing several Congress leaders in Bastar, the red rebels attacked Dhanbad-Patna Intercity train near Kundhar halt in Jamui district in Bihar. The driver of the train is in critical condition. At least three people, including two passengers and a RPF jawan, were reportedly killed. 20 other passengers were injured in the attack.
According to police, around 100 naxals opened fire inside the train on Thursday. Their motive of the attack was to loot the weapons from RPF personnel. Over half of the Maoists were women. It is seen as a cowardly and desperate attempt by the Maoists to achieve their self goal, while killing innocent and hapless people.
The incident took place at around 1 pm in Jamui, the Naxal stronghold.
