TNI Bureau: The battle between Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and MoS for HRD, Shashi Tharoor has become ugly, as both have gone personal to target each other. A day after Modi talked personal things against Tharoor, the Congress leader hit back on Twitter in the same manner.
While addressing an election rally in Himachal Pradesh’ Mandi, Modi had made a scathing attack on Tharoor, calling his wife Sunanda Pushkar as “50 crore rupee girlfriend”.

Wah kya girlfriend hai. Apne kabhi dekha hai 50 crore ka girlfriend? he asked the crowd, apparently referring to the IPL cricket controversy in 2010 involving Sunanda Pushkar in 2010. That led to Tharoor’s resignation as the MoS for External Affairs. But he returned after two years during Sunday’s cabinet reshuffle.
Tharoor hit back on Twitter, saying “@narendramodi My wife is worth a lot more than your imaginary 50 crores. She is priceless. But you need2be able2love some1 2understand that”. Tharoor was referring to Narendra Modi’s bachelorhood status.
