Narendra Modi emerges Stronger in BJP

Editor’s Desk: Not LK Advani, Not Nitin Gadkari, Not Sushma Swaraj, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has emerged stronger within the BJP in the recent days. Modi now is being projected as BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

While some BJP leaders tacitly supported Narendra Modi as the PM candidate, some others like BS Yeddyurappa have opened advocated the Gujarat CM, who is still not accepted by many political parties because of taints of Gujarat Riots 2002.

A majoiry of leaders within the BJP want Narendra Modi as the future PM and believe that the latter would galvanize the BJP cadres across the country and draw the attention of masses towards the BJP.

The BJP believes that only Narendra Modi can revive the declining fortunes of the BJP at the national level. The country needs a strong leader to boost the Indian Economy and help the nation recover from scams and inflation.

Since Modi is regarded as a leader of masses and has taken Gujarat to the top in terms of growth and development, BJP is banking on him to sail through the polls in 2014.

The BJP has kept a wait-and-watch policy, while secretly promoting Modi to the top. Some leaders do not approve this strategy, but they won’t have any option but to accept the reality sooner or later.

Recently, Modi proved that he ruled the roost in the party, when BJP President Nitin Gadkari was forced to seek Modi’s detractor Sanjay Joshi’s resignation to save the party from further blushes and pacify Modi. It would be interesting to see how BJP’s allies such as JD(U) reacts to Narendra Modi’s elevation.
