Only 10 weeks left for the upcoming U.S. presidential poll that is scheduled to be held in November this year. Romney is scheduled to accept his party’s nomination in a speech Thursday night.
Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts Governor, Winter Olympics CEO and multimillionaire businessman has got the opportunity after 5½ years since he declared his first White House proposition in 2007. Ann Romney, his wife performed an important role in the success of his campaign this time.
Nomination of Romney has put an end to the long primary fight and set the stage for a close contest against President Barack Obama. All of Romney’s former GOP competitors or the competitors from his Republican party have endorsed him, with the exception of Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
Paul did not have enough support to have his name placed in nomination, but he got 190 votes in the roll call while Romney got 2,061 votes, that are quiet above the desired mark of 1,144 votes to claim the nomination.
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum got nine votes while former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Rep. Michelle Bachmann and former Louisiana Gov. Charles “Buddy” Roemer each got one each.
