Microsoft Windows 8 Appfest sets Guinness World Record

TNI Bureau: Microsoft Windows 8 Appfest set a new Guinness world record for “Most Participants in a Software Development Marathon in One Location” in India’s IT hub Bangalore. Around 2,567 developers participated in the event.

The software developers built many applications in 18 hours. The event, organised by Microsoft, was aimed at encouraging the professionals to develop, design and test the applications for the Windows.

The certificate was presented to Jon DeVaan, Corporate Vice President for Windows Development at Microsoft, and Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd.

However, the techies said that the Guinness record is a great achievement for the developers, who participated in the event. They found many talents and apps were developed in 18 hours.
