TNI Bureau: Indian Phone maker Micromax launched a 10.1-inch tablet PC on Friday. The tablet, which is tagged as the Funbook Pro, is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and priced at Rs 9,999.
The thin and light weight 10.1 inch tablet runs on Android 4.0 OS and sports a capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz single-core processor and a 5600mAh battery. The tablet boats HD video playback capabilities and also features an HDMI port.
The Funbook Pro comes pre-loaded with a range of educational content that features interactive study material for CBSE, State boards and other competitive exams. Further, the company’s M! Store can also be accessed for a range of apps optimized for the tablet.
Micromax has partnered with Tata and is bundling Tata Photon+ data device with an additional 1GB download offer for the first two months. The company will also launch two more 7-inch tabs later this month to provide the customers a range of choices.
“We launched our 7-inch device in April and sold 1.4 lakh devices in just 100 days. We are confident that the new 10.1-inch tab will also do well,” Micromax CEO Deepak Malhotra told during the launch.
