TNI Bureau: Australian cricketer Michael Clarke became the first player in the history to score four double hundreds in a year. Clarke achieved the glory during the second test match against South Africa in Adelaide.
Clarke was part of many records that were broken on Day 1 of the test match. He scored his double hundred off 229 balls – the fastest by a captain. Australia piled up 482/5 in a single day. Three batsmen scored centuries – first time on the opening day of any test match.
David Warner made 119, while Mike Hussey scored 103. Clarke remained unbeaten on 224. The South African bowlers had a tough time throughout the day.
