TNI Bureau: Two IAS officers in Odisha landed in trouble for allegedly committing irregularities in implementing the rural job scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), sponsored by the Centre.
The state government in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court said that strong actions have been taken against the bureaucrats involved in the corruption.
Tow IAS officers Mrinalini Darswal and Jiban Ballav Mishra, both are the former district collectors of Nuapada, are allegedly involved in the corrupt practices of the rural job scheme.
While Darswal had allegedly looted Rs 2.53 lakh from the scheme to develop a lawn at the collector’s official residence in Nuapada, Mishra had tried to conceal the fact.
The government has taken steps against two bureaucrats under All India Service (AIS) rules.
