TNI Bureau: Explosions and bright flashes were seen over the sky of Russia’s Urals region in the morning after a meteorite crashed. Hundreds have been injured and damages were reported in the foreign media.
The conflicting reports created Confusion today. While Russia’s Emergency Ministry described the crash as a meteor shower, the Interfax news agency described the incident as a single meteorite.
The Emergency Ministry said that the fragments of the meteor fell near the town of Satka, about 200 kilometers from the regional capital city of Chelyabinsk.
The injured people have been given medical assistance following the incident. They sustained injuries from glass broken by the explosions. The damage to some buildings was also reported in the region.
