Message for BJP: Never fish in the Troubled Waters

Date:

If the embarrassment in Uttarakhand was not enough, the Modi Government suffered a huge setback on Wednesday, as the Supreme Court restored the status quo of December 2015, i.e. return of the Congress Government in Arunachal Pradesh.

Nabam Tuki, the dismissed Congress CM, would have to face a floor test and he may or may not win. But, the verdict came as a big blow to the BJP, which has been complaining of “judicial activism” of late.

In both Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh, BJP banked on the Congress rebels. The Congress Party failed to keep its house in order in these states. But, by choosing to fish in the troubled waters, the BJP brought bad name to the Modi Government, which has been aggressively following the policy of development and growth.

Hope the Arunachal verdict will put an end to any such misadventure by BJP or its president Amit Shah in future. PM Modi must listen to his inner voice before taking any such decision.
