New Delhi: Probably for the first time in history of India, the Chairman of Press Council, whose task is to protect the freedom of the Press, has gone political and waged a war against a person, who is perceived as BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate in 2014.
“I appeal to the people of India to consider all this if they are really concerned about the nation’s future. Otherwise they may make the same mistake which the Germans made in 1933,” he wrote in the article, “All the Perfumes of Arabia” on ‘The Hindu’.
“People clamouring for Narendra Modi should realise the only policy which can take India on the path of progress is equal respect and treatment for all communities,” he wrote in the beginning.
BJP leader Arun Jaitley has slammed Justice Katju and demanded his resignation from the coveted post, saying he is taking political sides. While the BJP leaders have all their guns blazing against Katju, the PCI Chairman remains defiant and even asked Jaitley to retire from politics for telling “lies” that he targets only the non-Congress governments.
