At least 10 members of CPI (Maoists), were killed in a deadly clash with Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a rival splinter group in Jharkhand. The unprecedented incident came as a big relief to the police, as the rebels made their task easier.
The TPC, which is mainly active in Khalari coal mines area in Ranchi and Betla in Latehar, was founded by Brajesh Ganju alias Sardar ji, a former CPI (Maoists) member in 2001. The group has been opposing the dominance of upper caste members among the Maoists.
