Major Power Collapse across North India

TNI Bureau: The Northern Grid collapsed last night, triggering the worst-ever power crisis across North India in the last 11 years. Delhi Metro train services were also hit, but resumed partially.

According to Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde held a press conference and said that 60% power has been restored so far and the situation will be back to normal soon. According to Power Minister, the problem occurred due to excess frequency.

The crisis began at around 1 AM last night. The affected states include Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. The restoration work of the grid is going on a war footing.
