The Tribunal clarified that the upcoming hearing is not an effective one and is only meant to review the status and progress of efforts by the party States toward an amicable settlement. It also exempted Odisha’s Advocate General from personal appearance.

Additionally, the Tribunal expressed serious concern over the failure of the party States to submit a joint application seeking an extension of the Tribunal’s tenure, despite earlier directions. Proceedings will continue as scheduled.
