TNI Bureau: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh broke his silence after a week over the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers at the Line of Control (Loc), saying that there cannot be business as usual with Pakistan.
As Pakistan has been denying the ceasefire violation at the LoC, Dr Singh said that the neighbouring country will realise it. He made it clear that what will be the actions taken against Pakistan, cannot be discussed openly.
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid is likely to brief Dr Singh over the situation at the LoC. Dr Singh had discussed the issue with the BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitely on Monday assuring them to keep them in the loop about the latest developments.
BJP had taken on the government after two soldiers were brutally killed and one of them was beheaded by Pak troops at Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir on January 8.
Earlier, India’s Army Chief General Bikram Singh had sent out a strong message that India will retaliate if provoked, ahead of the commander-level flag meet yesterday.
