The triple murder in Khandagiri Vihar in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, has shocked the entire state. The accused went inside the house peacefully with a bouquet. He first stabbed the caretaker of the house, then killed his son. The wife came to rescue. She was badly injured in the scuffle. After the murder, the assailant replaced the blood-stained clothes with a new one.
Later, the owner of the house, Dr. Atulya Chandra Meher, an Orthopaedic Surgeon rushed in. The killer caught hold of the doctor, asked his wife to give him a glass of water. After drinking the water, he dragged the doctor and stabbed him multiple times, leaving him dead. He then spared the doctor’s wife and mother, who were standing nearby and was leaving the place, when he was nabbed by an auto-rickshaw driver and some local youths. It is believed that the murder took place because of some old rivalry between the doctor and the assailant, who turned out to be a Medicine Representative and owner of a Medicine Store.
The caretaker’s wife and the attacker are being treated at the hospital now. The entire murder was captured on CCTV camera installed at the Doctor’s house. Here are the pictures.
