TNI Bureau: Things should not be very big as Kareena Kapoor has done lot of films so far and several of them are blockbusters. In fact she was the busiest heroine months back with big films like ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ra-One’. So what is the big shut about the upcoming Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’?
‘Page 3’ director Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, which is releasing on September 21, is a women-centric film showing the ups and downs of an actress. Plot of the film revolves around the life of a once successful film actress Mahi Arora, whose career is on the decline. Kareena plays the protagonist.
Kareena Kapoor mentioned recently during the promotion of the film in Delhi that Karishma Kapoor, her elder sister, who happens to be a veteran actor of Bollywood, praised a lot after watching Kareena in the film. She literally wept for 10 minutes, kareena said. What may be the reason of weeping?
The strongest guess is that the film portrays the struggle of a heroine and Karishma although might not have struggled hard to establish her in the industry (in real life), hailing from the leading family of Indian cinema, the Kapoors, but yet it is obvious that whoever one may be she has to struggle her part.
Perhaps Karishma recalled those (her early) days. Again, kareena is an outstanding actor. She has shown her talent earlier and her acting/performance in the film must be appealing, seeing which Karishma perhaps wept.
Another big news about the film is ‘Halkat jawani’. Yes, the item number ‘Halkat Jawani’ performed for the first time by Kareena. So far the number has already earned a great deal of pre-release publicity to the film. In fact, people are waiting to see the offspring of Kapoor Khandan in an item number, which she had not attempted earlier.
The first look of the movie was released at the 64th Cannes Film Festival. A promotional poster was released during a press conference in which Ronnie Screwvala of UTV Motion Pictures, Madhur Bhandarkar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan officially announced the movie.
However, the trailer was released on 25th July 2012 online and it soon crossed over a million hits on YouTube within 2 days.
Music of the film has been composed by Salim Sulaiman. The film has 5 tracks – Halkat Jawani, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Tujhpe Fida sung by Benny Dayal and Sharadha Pandit, Khwahishein sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Saiyaan sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Mein Heroine hun.
However, although so many big tags have been attached to the film, the budget of the film is not big. The film has reportedly been made merely with a budget of Rs. 18 crore.
The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, Rakesh Bapat, Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, Helen, Shillpi Sharma, Mugdha Godse and Lillete Dubey besides Kareena.
So now it is only time to wait and watch how much ‘Heroine’ can lure in the cinema house on 21 September.
