Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam’ released in Tamil Nadu

TNI Bureau: Kamal Haasan’s fans gave his controversial film ‘Vishwaroopam’ a big welcome in Tamil Nadu after it was released in all the theatres across the state today. The tickets were already sold till February 13, which shows the great excitement among the audiences to watch the film.

The film was finally released in the state after a series of talks between Kamal Haasan and several Muslim groups, which were opposing to the film. The actor-producer Haasan agreed to delete 7 minutes scenes from the film. The Muslim groups alleged that their community had been portrayed in a poor light in the film.

Haasan convinced the protesters that the film is “Muslim-friendly” requesting them not to spread cultural terrorism in the country. He agreed that the audio would be removed in the seven scenes, which were cut from the film. The Jayalalithaa government finally gave a nod to Haasan and the Madras High Court closed all writ petitions filed against the film.

The actor was facing a big loss day by day after the film was banned in the state, which is the biggest market for him. Now, it is a huge relief for him, who had invested most of his properties on the film.
