The ‘Royal’ and Union Minister of State for Power, Jyotiraditya Scindia has emerged as a saviour for the depleted Congress Party in Madhya Pradesh, which is fighting a losing battle against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government. An aggressive and stubborn Scindia, who took over as the Campaign Committee Chief of the Congress in MP, has vowed to uproot the BJP from the state.
Scindia has been more vocal in support of Rahul Gandhi than any other youth leaders. He believes that India will progress under the leadership of Rahul, as the latter cares about the poor and needy people. In his election speeches in Madhya Pradesh, Jyotiraditya talks about UPA government’s welfare schemes and policies and Rahul’s contribution to those.
Whatever may be the outcome of 2013 Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, one is certain that the old guards in MP Congress have been pushed to the corner and Jyotiraditya Scindia is the new face, who may or may not change the political scenario in the state immediately, but he will be here to stay and lead the Congress in future.
