Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) was given nod for its proposed coal-to-liquid (CTL) project, which will begin in Angul district. The company will invest Rs 60,000 crore for the project, which would produce oil from coal.
While briefing the media at Secretariat on Tuesday, JSPL CMD Naveen Jindal said that the project would help to solve the country’s fuel problem.
The company has proposed the state government to provide raw materials at subsidised rate. The government will decide the price later. The 2 million tonne plant will be operational by March 2015.
