TNI Bureau: Sorry! Sirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’ is not worth watching for the second time. It is good for the first time as a mass-entertainer starring the big starts of today, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.
Coming to the plot, Agastya is a NASA scientist back to the village Pagalpur along with his love (Sonakshi Sinha) who keeps sending signals in space to make it reach to the aliens if any over there. Paglapur is devoid of basic amenities or common sense and also not enlisted on the Indian map. When nothing works, he devises a plan and spreads rumor that aliens visit the village and fortunately that gets the attention of everyone from the media, ministers and scientists to the US President. The neglected village turns alive overnight and continues to grab big attention, until a scientist by the name of Simon Goback unearths that the aliens are villagers under vegetable garb.
The comedy concepts seem poor and outdated. The artificial aliens, who could be of certain worth, are inducted only after the interval and the first half roams in oblivion.
Akshay Kumar is average and Sonakshi Sinha is not good in acting this time. We don’t know whose slip-up is that but it is amazing that presence of stars like Akki and Sonakshi could not create magic.
Again, Shreyas Talpade’s gibberish becomes gradually irritating towards the end. Minissha Lamba lacks screen presence. Other characters have also not done anything big to be remembered.
Ironically, the alien film ‘Joker’ might be a blockbuster if it could be released at the theaters of the alien land where the aliens presented in the film might be living, but it is hardly for the human being of this earth, where we do live. Still it should be worth once-watching.
