New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder, who was brutally assaulted outside a Christchurch bar earlier this week, has regained consciousness and is talking to the friends and family members, reports said. Ryder is at the ICU with a fractured skull and punctured lung.

Jesse Ryder, who was in a critical condition after the assault, responded to the treatment well at a later stage. The doctors are trying their best to save his life and make him fit. He was in coma earlier.
According to the doctors, the recovery process has just begun and Jesse need to fight a long battle to regain full fitness, as his injuries are quite serious by nature. However, since the progress is positive, everyone is optimistic now.
