TNI Bureau: The much awaited Apple iPhone 5 will be available in India from November 2. Apple India distributors Ingram Micro and Redington India will start supplying iPhone 5 to retailers. Even though, the price of the gadget is yet to be officially confirmed, it is expected to be sold at a price of Rs 45,500 in India.
The iPhone 5 sports a 4-inch screen/display, but is taller and comes with a pixel resolution of 1136X640 with 326 ppi. iPhone 5 measures 7.6 millimeters thin and weighs 112 grams which is 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than iPhone 4S. Also, as per Apple, the A6 chip is twice as fast as its predecessor.
The iPhone5 has the dual-core A6 chip, an 8 megapixel rear camera with a sapphire crystal lens cover for ‘clearer pictures’ and a 1.2 megapixel front camera. The dock connector is now called Lightning, and is an eight-pin plug. The gadget features a new optics, supports 4G LTE networks and requires a nano SIM card.
The gadget will be available in two colours black and white and both these versions are expected to go on sale though stocks are extremely limited thanks to the global demand for the device.
Online retailers like Infibeam and Saholic have already started accepting the preorders for the 16GB variant of iPhone 5 with an advance payment of Rs 5,000. Saholic is listing the 16GB version for Rs 45500 with an estimated shipping date of 4 November.
