The callousness of the Bihar Police in preventing the serial blasts in Patna during Narendra Modi’s grand rally, has been exposed further, as the death toll has now gone up to 6. The number of injured is put at 102. The Indian Mujahideen (IM), which carried out the Bodhgaya blasts, is said to be behind the Patna serial blasts too.
Tehseen Akhtar, who is the right hand man IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, was the mastermind behind the Patna blasts. It was revealed by the arrested terrorist (Imtiaz Ansari) from Patna Railway Station soon after the blasts. Besides Ansari, some other IM members, such as Ainul, Akhtar and Kaleem were also apprehended.
Meanwhile, the NIA has expressed reservations over the bomb diffusion methods adopted by the Bihar Police. The live bombs went off during the diffusion, destroying crucial evidences related to the blasts. The NIA questioned the preparedness of the Bihar police while dealing with such crisis situation.
Some media reports suggested that Bihar Police were ill-prepared for Narendra Modi’s rally, which resulted in at least five blasts at the Gandhi Maidan – the venue of the rally. There was no ambulance or fire brigade in sight even though four to five lakh people were expected to reach the venue. No adequate police deployment was made, which was quite unusual, considering the fact that the top BJP leaders were supposed to address the rally. The injured were taken to hospital on bikes, as there was no ambulance.
Now, it has become clear that Nitish Kumar has failed the aspirations of people in Bihar, as he failed to protect the lives despite alerts and inputs. Rather, he has gone soft, boosting the morale of terrorists.
