Indian Couple in Norway convicted in Child Abuse Case

TNI Bureau: In a shocking development, the Indian couple from Hyderabad, were found guilty in the child abuse case in Norway and sentenced to jail. While the father got a jail term of 18 months, the mother was sentenced to 15 months.

The couple was found guilty of gross or repeated maltreatment of their child. The prosecution had sought strict punishment for the accused, terming the matter as “very serious”. According to the prosecution, the child had burn marks and scars on the body. She was reportedly beaten by a belt too.

The “battered” child’s father Chandrasekhar Vallabhaneni, a software professional from Andhra Pradesh. He is working with the TCS. His mother Anupama is working with the Indian Embassy.

The child had complainted to his teachers nine months ago that he was being threatened to be sent back to India for his behaviour. The Indian government did not intervene in this matter.
