Thanks to some tremendous efforts by MS Dhoni towards the end, India posted 263/7 in 50 overs. Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina scored 62 runs each. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 51, while Rayudu scored 32. For West Indies, Jerome Taylor took three wickets.
West Indies started very well while chasing the target. The openers added 64 runs for the first wicket. They looked good when Dwayne Smith and Kieron Pollard were at the crease. However, Pollard’s dismissal brought back pressure on the team. The Indian spinners did a tremendous job to bowl well despite the dew factor.
Dwayne Smith’s excellent 97 went in vain, as West Indies bowled out for 215 in 46.3 overs and lost the match by 48 runs. Kieron Pollard (40) and Darren Bravo (26) were the other top contributors. For India, Shami took four wickets, while Jadeja took three wickets. Amit Mishra took two wickets.
