1) Actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab have filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against late Jiah Khan’s mother Rabbiya Khan soon after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI probe into the suicide case.
2) A CBI court in Panaji, has granted interim relief to Leader of the Opposition an former Goa CM Pratapsingh Rane and his MLA son and former Congress Minister Vishwajit Rane in extortion and corruption case. A mining lessee Bhalachandra Naik of Dahej Minerals, had alleged that he had paid Rs 6 crore to Vishwajit to remove extracted ore at Poriem in north Goa in 2008. He further claimed that Mr. Rane had demanded Rs 10 crore for granting an environment clearance.
3) Two top British ministers- Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs William Hague and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osdonpatoe, will arrive on a two-day visit to India on Monday and meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
4) Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic won the Wimbledon Open Women’s singles title, as she defeated Eugenie Bouchard of Canada 6-3, 6-0 in just 55 minutes. It was the second Wimbledon title for Petra.
