India lose to Australia in Champions Trophy Semis

TNI Bureau: India’s hopes of making it to the finals of Champions Trophy Hockey for the first time, were shattered today, as they went down to mighty Australia 0-3. India will now take on Pakistan in the bronze medal match.

The injury-hit Indian team proved no match to defending champions Australia. Jamie Dwyer (5th and 18th) and Kieran Govers scored the goals for Australia.

In another semifinal, the Netherlands defeated Pakistan 5-2 to set up the summit clash with the Kangaroos. India had won a bronze medal in Champions Trophy last time in 1982.
