TNI Bureau: The Indian women scored a consolation victory over hapless Pakistan in the play-off at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack to finish 7th in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2013. Mithali Raj scored an unbeaten hundred.
Earlier, Pakistan scored 192/7 in 50 overs. Nain Abidi scored 58, while Nida Dar remained unbeaten on 68. Niranjana took three wickets, while Jhulan Goswami took two wickets.
Chasing a victory of 193, India reached 195/4 in 46 overs and won the match by six wickets. Mithali Raj remained unbeaten on 103. She was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
